The harbourmaster Gregory keeps track of all ships arriving and leaving the docks in his logbook. The captains have to pay a fee for every day their ship lies in the harbour. Gregory also checks their goods.
Gregory is an ambitious man who got this job thanks to hard work and devotion. At least, he was, until a couple months ago his wife was found dead in the docks, and his three children gone from their beds. The undertaker did his best to patch up the body - he never told the harbourmaster what had happened to her, so horrible it must have been. Now Gregory can usually be found in a tavern, drinking away his sorrow. When asked about what happened to his children he remains silent.
